In-person, comprehensive, DONA Doula training will prepare you with the practical skills needed to support women and their families, as well as the necessary confidence and inspiration to begin immediately.

Birth Doula Workshop topics include:
- Anatomy and Physiology of Childbirth
- The Stages of Labour
- Supporting the Physical and Emotional Process of Pregnancy and Childbirth
- Scope of Practice and Code of Ethics for Doulas
- Common Medical Interventions and Medication options during Childbirth
- Hands-on comfort measures with time for practice and role play
- Pre and Post-natal Visits – what to cover during your meeting with a client
- Breastfeeding – how the Birth Doula supports the mother and the baby
- Your Doula Business – how to begin, where to get clients and the process of support
- Meet the Doulas – when possible, local doulas will come and talk about their experiences
- How to achieve certification with DONA International – the World’s Premier Doula Association
Birth Doula Training
- The following approved workshop satisfy steps toward birth doula certification with DONA International
- To successfully complete the workshop, you must attend the full doula training
- Prior to the workshop, all attendees are encouraged to read the Position Paper: The Birth Doula's role in Maternity Care from DONA International and "The Birth Partner" book by Penny Simkin.

Fees & Refund Policy: A registration deposit is required to hold your space in the class and payment plans are available. If you wish to cancel your registration written notification is required for a refund, less $100.00+GST administration fee. No refunds are issued for cancellations less than one month prior to any Birth Doula Training course beginning. Transfers to a different course date are accepted, within 1 calendar year.

Erin Moyen began working as a doula in 2006 and still supports birthing families today! Her passion for maternal-child health is truly undeniable. Erin is a respected and active member of the Alberta birth community and is the owner of a successful birth services agency serving Calgary, Cochrane, Airdrie, Red Deer and surrounding areas. In addition to being a DONA-approved birth doula trainer Erin is a mentor to doulas, certified postpartum doula (DONA), Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator (LCCE) and breastfeeding support specialist (CLE) with an interest in Maternal Mental Health. <<Read More Here>>
