Initial Breastfeeding Consultation (home or hospital)
Did you know you can have personalized care in the comfort of your own home, or immediately following birth in the hospital? Not only do you need to know this, you deserve to have it.

Initial consultations are perfect for mothers experiencing pain, concerns about  supply and challenges with baby's latch, milk transfer or growth. During an initial breastfeeding consultation (2-3 hours) our lactation specialist will:
  • review your medical history, including the birth and current feeding practices
  • communicate current evidence-based guidelines for breastfeeding success
  • observe and evaluate breastfeeding
  • educate on breastfeeding positions that encourage a successful latch 
  • suggest breastfeeding techniques to ensure baby is receiving enough milk
  • assist with troubleshooting if you are experiencing engorgement, sore nipples, etc.
  • create an action plan that works for you, your baby and family, as required
  • provide answers to questions or concerns you may have​

Support is available to families in the following cities/towns: Calgary, Cochrane, Airdrie, Sundre, Olds and all other areas of Rocky View and Mountain View County.

I am so relieved a friend referred me to Erin after I had my son. He was four weeks old and hadn't latched before I contacted Erin. Previous to contacting Erin, I thought I had tried everything - we had his tongue clipped for a posterior tongue tie, I had been having weekly appointments with the LC's at the clinic as well as attending weekly doctor appointments at the Breastfeeding clinic.
