CCS provides comprehensive childbirth education classes in Cochrane and Red Deer based on the 6 healthy birth practices of Lamaze International. Lamaze is not new, but has ‘rebirthed’ their philosophy and as you prepare to meet your wee one, we offer the following options a one-day-class or our 8-week group class. As with all of our childbirth education classes, content will promote pregnancy, childbirth and early parenting as normal. Our curriculum is designed to reduce fear and increase your confidence. All group childbirth classes will explore the following topics:
One-Day-Group Childbirth Class (weekend) Investment: $269.00* (this fee includes the birthing person and 1 support person) Our weekend class is perfect for parents-to-be with demanding schedules! This one-day childbirth class offers a slightly more condensed version of our 6-week birthing class yet covers everything from labour and childbirth to breastfeeding and early parenting. NEW for 2019!! 8-week Group Class in Cochrane Course Date: Oct. 9 - Nov. 27, 2019, Wednesday from 7:00-9:00pm Transformation to Parenthood is a unique Pre- and Postnatal experience, designed to foster community connections as well as prepare families for a memorable labour, birth and postpartum journey! This eight week program includes two important segments - a prenatal portion, where families will learn how to best prepare themselves physically and educationally, followed by a memorable postpartum portion. Ideally your baby will be born between weeks 5 and 8* which will allow you to introduce your new addition, share stories, ask questions and build a foundation to guide you as you transition from woman to mother. The final weeks of pregnancy are sacred and all families deserve an unforgettable transformation to parenthood! Investment: $399.00* (fee includes the birthing person and 1 support person) Throughout our 8-week group class topics are presented in a variety of ways, including discussion, audio-visual means, shared experience, hands-on and couple or group work. *A registration fee of half the class cost is required to reserve your spot. This deposit is non-refundable and the balance is due 7-10 days prior to the class beginning. Noteworthy Info: The ideal time to attend prenatal classes is around 28-36 weeks of pregnancy. To guarantee availability you are encouraged to book your class early in your pregnancy. CCS childbirth education classes offer small classes (max. 3-8 couples) to ensure a relaxed and personalized experience as you prepare for your best birth. This class is designed and taught by Erin Moyen our certified, trusted and experienced childbirth educator who is also a breastfeeding support specialist, family sleep educator and doula. |
Most insurance providers and/or Health Spending Accounts (HSA) will reimburse for the costs of prenatal education classes taught by a certified childbirth professional.
