Calgary and Chestermere Birth Doula
My passion for Maternal & Child Health began during my undergraduate degree at the University of Calgary and has grown substantially in the past several years.
While pursuing my Bachelor of Health Sciences degree, my research during these formative years led to two published papers:
Seeking a more hands-on approach, I decided to pursue further education and found the work of Birth Doulas to be inspiring while being the perfect stepping stone towards achieving my dream of becoming a Midwife. I then set out to complete the Birth Doula Course (DONA International) and the Childbirth Education Course (Lamaze International) at Mount Royal University, as well as the Breastfeeding for Doulas and Healthcare Professionals class (Chavah).
Birth, like many of the amazing events in our lives that bring about drastic changes, can be both exciting and intimidating. But with the right support, full of confidence and joy, parents will make the right decisions for themselves and for their beautiful baby or babies.
If you would provide me the honor, I will come into your birth space with open hands and an open heart, ready to provide you with the assistance, comfort and the encouragement you and your partner require.
I believe that Mamas are the experts of their own body and their baby, and my goal as your Birth Doula is to complement that by helping you figure out your options, encouraging you to advocate for yourself, supporting you through your decisions and respecting whatever that may be.
I’m excited to join you on your birth journey.
