Attending a Vaginal Birth After Cesarean (VBAC) is one of life's great privileges! VBAC mothers are composed but fierce, courageous yet nervous, empowered though cautious and understand the following 3 things: 1. The risk of Uterine Rupture is extremely low! 0.2% - 1.6% risk, depending on the type and location of previous incision. 2. Choosing a supportive birth team is imperative
3. The body that builds the baby knows how to birth it! Like Ina May says, "your body is not a lemon!" 75% of women choosing a VBAC are successful. Healthy women having healthy babies are capable of vaginal birth after cesarean and should be offered a trial of labour by their care provider. You can do this! On August 8, 2014 I 'held space' for a beautiful family as they welcomed their son to the world. Much to my surprise, their journey was shared on their public vlog (video blog). You can watch and learn more about their exciting VBAC journey here:
